John’s story

John's training began 40 years ago making 18th century high end furniture reproductions and restoring antique and fine furniture. The last several years, John shifted his attention to creating one of a kind beautiful "live edge" furniture. John was fascinated with keeping the "imperfections" of the tree, and showcasing its true personality. This led to a whole new exciting body of work. This tedious process begins by spending hours and hours hand selecting the perfect piece of wood. Once the perfect piece of wood has been discovered, the real excitement takes hold. John then begins the painstaking process of transforming the piece of wood into a true work of art. And remarkably, John is adamant about keeping the incredible character of the wood intact during the entire transformation. Combining 40 years of experience of fine furniture making with the creativity involved with the "live edge" pieces, John is truly offering one of a kind pieces with a level of craftsmanship that is unmatched.
